The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) provided medical services to more than 150 people and issued thousands of commendations during a weeklong administrative and personnel support initiative, authorities said Monday.
QCPD acting director Col. Randy Glenn Silvio said the district’s Medical and Dental Unit served 152 beneficiaries from 21 to 27 December and the recipients included police personnel, their dependents, civilians and individuals in police custody.
Services during the week included medical consultations, dental work, chest X-rays and health monitoring for detainees. The unit also conducted medical evaluations for officers preparing for physical fitness tests scheduled for January.
As part of the “Ligtas Paskuhan” holiday safety campaign, roving teams distributed vitamins and health education materials to the public.
In an effort to boost morale, the district conferred 3,076 commendations to officers for exemplary service and discipline. Silvio said the awards recognize outstanding performance in public service over the past year.
The report also highlighted 74 community engagement activities held in various barangays to strengthen ties between the police and local residents. To maintain operational readiness, the district completed repairs and maintenance on 13 service vehicles to ensure rapid response capabilities.
Additionally, the QCPD Damayan program provided P20,000 in burial assistance to the family of an officer who recently lost a parent.
