Senator Christopher “Bong” Go’s Malasakit Team visited Malita, Davao Occidental on 17 December to extend support to local micro-entrepreneurs in coordination with both local and national government agencies.
During the activity, beneficiaries received business kits under the Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) program, a livelihood initiative championed by Go to help small entrepreneurs get back on their feet and grow their income.
“This is one way we show care and support for our fellow Filipinos who have gone through difficult times,” Go said in a message. “Your hard work doesn’t just help individual families — it also helps entire communities recover and move forward.”
The senator encouraged beneficiaries to continue building their small businesses, stressing the value of perseverance and self-earned success.
“Work hard to grow your business. When it grows, bring the income home to your families,” Go said. “It feels more rewarding when you’ve worked hard for it — when you’ve really sweated it out and managed to make your business grow.”
A total of 25 beneficiaries received food packs, shirts, pens, fans and balls from Go’s Malasakit Team, while others were also given watches and pairs of shoes.
Go reiterated his long-standing support for local development and small enterprises, noting that he is a co-author and co-sponsor of Republic Act 11960, or the One Town, One Product Philippines Act. The law promotes Filipino-made products and helps small producers expand their market reach.
“Through this law, we are strengthening local businesses in every town and city across the country,” Go said. “We are making sure they get the support they need to sustain their operations and reach wider markets.”
