Nearly P2 million worth of illegal drugs were seized from five high-value individuals in separate buy-bust operations conducted in the municipalities of Binangonan and San Mateo in Rizal province on Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.
At around 3:15 a.m. Thursday, two suspects identified only by the aliases Nestor, 53, and J-3, 39, were arrested in Barangay Pantok, Binangonan. Both were classified as high-value individuals.
Police seized about 104.1 grams of suspected shabu valued at P707,880, along with a sling bag, cellular phones, recovered and buy-bust money, and a motorcycle.
Earlier, at around 11:00 p.m. Wednesday, two more high-value individuals—identified as Kabo, 43, and Toto, 21—were arrested in Barangay Pag-asa, also in Binangonan.
Authorities recovered approximately 100.6 grams of suspected shabu worth P684,080, as well as a coin purse, a cellular phone, and buy-bust and recovered money.
In a separate operation at around 9:27 p.m. Thursday, another suspect, identified as Nor, 48, a newly identified high-value individual, was arrested at his residence in Barangay Silangan, San Mateo.
Seized from him were about 72 grams of suspected shabu valued at P489,600, a revolver pistol, bullets, a holster, a sling bag, and buy-bust money.
All suspects are facing charges for violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Nor is also facing charges for violation of Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
The suspects are currently detained in their respective custodial facilities while documents are being prepared for the filing of formal charges.
