Chinese General Hospital inks media pact

The Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center (CGHMC) celebrated its annual Media Appreciation Day with the formal signing and renewal of a memorandum of agreement (MoA) reinforcing its commitment to supporting members of the press.

The renewed agreement ensures media members will continue to receive a 30 percent discount on hospital room rates and special discounts on selected laboratory and diagnostic procedures.

CGHMC president and CEO Kelly Sia stressed that the partnership acknowledges the indispensable role the press plays in nation-building and public service.

“This partnership demonstrates the hospital’s commitment to providing services and privileges to the members of the press, who play a crucial role in nation-building,” Sia said, adding that the hospital’s initiative reflects its long-standing dedication to organizations that render essential services to the Filipino people.

The Media Appreciation Day celebration and agreement renewal underscore CGHMC’s mission to extend care, foster collaboration, and strengthen ties with the press, recognizing their “courage and persistence in the pursuit of truth.”

“For now, I want this moment to focus on you, on the partnership we share, on the trust you extend to us, and on the important role you play in shaping public understanding of health care,” Sia said in his speech.

Among the signatories to the agreement were officials from CGHMC and the Philippine Chinese Charitable Association Inc., along with Florian Mangcucang, executive director for Brand Communications, representing DAILY TRIBUNE.

The hospital sees the renewed agreement as a testament to the enduring partnership, anchored on the shared belief that those who tirelessly bring truth to the public deserve unwavering care in return.
