Marcos arrived at the ICI headquarters in Taguig City in the afternoon and spoke briefly with reporters before entering the building. He emphasized that he came “voluntarily” and was not summoned by the commission.

He clarified that no subpoena was issued to him and that he is not considered a subject of the investigation.

"I'm willing to give and tell the ICI anything that I might know that may further the investigation," the lawmaker said.

Marcos requested an executive session, which the commission granted shortly after his arrival.

Last week, Marcos wrote the ICI expressing his willingness to appear before the commission, saying he was prepared to cooperate fully. "I welcome the opportunity to shed light on any matter that may assist your review," he said in his letter. He added that he stands ready to “cooperate, answer questions, and provide any clarification needed to move this investigation forward.”

Marcos and his father were previously accused by Ako Bicol party-list Representative Zaldy Co of allegedly ordering insertions in the national budget. Marcos has disputed the claims, calling them part of a destabilization effort.

He dismissed Co’s allegations, saying that “anyone can sit in front of a camera from abroad and spew lies.”
