The clock is ticking, and the Christmas chimes are ringing!
As many would say, Filipinos plus Christmas equals the best holiday celebration ever! Not just because of the grandeur, but because of the warmth and care put into every decoration, Christmas song, gift, and Noche Buena.
The season wouldn’t feel complete without our loved ones. So here’s a guide to celebrating the occasion at some of the top spots around Metro Manila.
Malls and shopping hubs
For many Filipinos, malls are the ultimate holiday destination—places where families can enjoy food together, shop for their favorite items, and have a safe, air-conditioned environment to beat the heat and crowds. The best part? Mall admission is free!
Most malls in Metro Manila feature gigantic Christmas decorations and dancing lights, creating a festive atmosphere full of energy. They also cater to different age groups: play areas for kids, beauty salons and spas for moms and daughters, and shopping zones for personal or home items. Plus, the Metro Manila Film Festival runs from 25 December to January 2026, making it the perfect way to end the holiday season with emotional and intimate family moments.
In Makati, the Ayala Triangle Gardens hosts its annual Christmas lights and sound show throughout the season. You can also catch live performances and exciting activities at Greenbelt Park & Mall.
SM Malls across the Metro also have their seasonal highlights. The SM Mall of Asia in Pasay boasts a Christmas Village with giant decorations, rides, and ice skating—perfect for experiencing a “winter” Christmas vibe. Its food court also offers a scenic view of Manila Bay, ideal for relaxing with family and friends. Other popular SM destinations include SM Megamall, SM North EDSA, and SM Fairview.
Staycations and Hotels
After long hours of shopping and holiday adventures, a cozy staycation or hotel getaway can be the perfect way to bond with family.
In Makati, The Peninsula Manila and Holiday Inn & Suites (located atop Glorietta) are excellent choices. Other recommended options include Belmont Hotel Manila, Sofitel Philippine Plaza in Pasay, Okada Manila in Parañaque, Conrad Manila in Pasay, Edsa Shangri-La in Mandaluyong, and Novotel Manila or Ibis Styles in Araneta City.
For visitors coming from the provinces, Sheraton Manila Hotel, conveniently located near NAIA Terminal 3, is a great option.
Outdoor Spots
Wild adventures outdoors will never go out of style, especially if you are waiting for fireworks displays in the fresh air. Parks are perfect for strolling, attending events, and capturing Instagram-worthy moments.
Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig features a Christmas market, giant lanterns, interactive installations, and food stalls—always aesthetic, never boring.
At the heart of the country’s capital are historical sites that continue to create memories. Intramuros in Manila, and Luneta Park (also known as Rizal Park), are adorned with holiday lights, cultural tours, and parol displays. For a fun twist, travel back in time by riding a kalesa. Arroceros Park, located near the Metropolitan Theatre, stands like an oasis amid the bustling city.
Quezon City Memorial Circle is always bustling during the holidays, offering affordable rides for children, a scenic fountain, and a food and merchandise market.
Church
Christmas is, above all, about Christ. Take time to offer prayers of gratitude for the blessings and challenges of the past year, and declare hope for the year ahead at your local church.
Remember: the holiday season doesn’t need to be expensive. What matters most is feeling the warmth of love and togetherness. At the end of the day, the best place to celebrate Christmas is home!
