All eyes will be on Camiguin next year with the launch of Isle Visit Camiguin 2026, a year-long tourism campaign designed to attract travelers and adventure seekers to the island province in northern Mindanao.
The highlight of the calendar is the Ironman 5150 on 3 May, which is expected to draw hundreds of triathletes, officials, and sports enthusiasts. Participants will swim around the iconic Sunken Cemetery before biking and running along the province’s scenic routes, with the bike leg covering two loops along the Circumferential Road and finishing at the Camiguin Sports Complex in Mambajao.
“Camiguin is one of the country’s most beautiful and storied islands, and bringing an Ironman 5150 race here allows us to combine both adventure and cultural discovery,” said Sunrise Events Inc. president and general manager Princess Galura. She added that Ironman gives visitors a chance to experience the island’s attractions — including Ardent Hot Springs, Sto. Niño Cold Springs, Bura Soda Pool, White Island Sandbar and Mantigue Island Nature Park.
Governor Xavier Jesus “XJ” D. Romualdo hailed the campaign as a milestone for sports and tourism. “We are proud to welcome triathletes from across the Philippines and around the world to experience Camiguin, not just as a destination, but as a community that celebrates nature, culture, and active living,” he said.
