The Makati City Police arrested one suspect and is hunting two others involved in a theft-snatching incident in the city on Sunday.
The case stemmed from an “agaw-cellphone” incident that was linked to an e-wallet account. Around 4:30 a.m., personnel from Sub-Station 3 and the Station Drug Enforcement Unit were deployed to Barangay Pio del Pilar for follow-up operations.
The Southern Police District identified the victim as 40-year-old businesswoman alias "Menerva."
According to authorities, a grayish-blue Toyota Vios with plate number NLA 4213, believed to have been used by the suspects, was spotted along Arnaiz Avenue.
Officers attempted to block the vehicle, but the suspects allegedly rammed the responding officers and fled toward the South Luzon Expressway.
Authorities later received information from Skyway Patrol personnel about a similar vehicle with flat tires. Officers proceeded to Villamor Airbase in Pasay City to verify the report. They found the vehicle and detained one female occupant for verification.
Two other individuals reportedly escaped before the police arrived. Search operations remain ongoing to locate the remaining suspects.
