Veteran actress Carmi Martin delivered a candid and emotionally charged message during the recent “Baha sa Luneta” rally, where artists, workers, and citizens gathered to express concern over widespread flooding and ongoing social issues.
Speaking before the crowd, Carmi urged solidarity and prayer for the country, noting how difficult it is to witness vulnerable communities repeatedly suffer. Dahil nakikita ko ‘yung mga binabaha, ‘yung mga walang bahay, pagkatapos nagpapakasasa itong mga nasa gobyerno,” she said, lamenting the stark contrast between public hardship and perceived excess in government.
Carmi also highlighted the struggles faced by actors who have no choice but to comply with tax deductions, emphasizing the pain of seeing those contributions allegedly misused.
