Toyota Motor Philippines is getting ready to roll out its first all-electric Toyota model in the country, with the arrival of the all-new bZ4X set for December.
Reservations quietly opened as early as 7 November and, according to Toyota Motor Philippines president Masando Hashimoto, dealers that will handle the model have already been receiving steady inquiries.
Hashimoto said interest has been strong since news of the local release came out.
One of the first things many people ask about is range. Hashimoto explained that while day-to-day consumption still depends on driving style and traffic conditions, Toyota recorded an estimated 570 kilometers of driving range for the bZ4X.
The figure comes from tests based on the UN Regulation No. 101 fuel consumption protocol, a standard used internationally to measure EV efficiency.
The version headed to Philippine showrooms will come from Japan. It uses a 73.11 kWh lithium-ion battery and all-wheel drive, with total system output rated at 343 PS and 338 Nm.
On paper, that gives the bZ4X the pull of a traditional gasoline SUV while delivering power in a smoother and more silent manner.
Toyota is positioning the bZ4X as a crossover SUV that combines familiar Toyota traits with a more future-ready setup. The bZ4X highlights features such as Toyota Safety Sense driver-assist technologies, Intelligent Park Assist, a panoramic moon roof, front seat ventilation, and 20-inch alloy wheels.
The cabin is packaged to feel modern and upscale, in line with what buyers now expect from a flagship nameplate.
The bZ4X also comes with an AC charger and is listed with a starting price of P2,699,000. Exterior colors include Emotional Red, Platinum White Pearl Mica, Precious Metal and Dark Blue Mica.
The model adds another piece to its growing electrified range. The company already sells a mix of hybrid and battery-electric vehicles under both the Toyota and Lexus brands, including the Lexus RZ, which served as TMP’s first battery-electric vehicle introduction in 2023.
The company continues to push a “multi-pathway” strategy, offering hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and full EVs so customers can choose what suits their needs and charging access.
Those who are ready to make the switch can reserve a unit through the dedicated page on Toyota’s website or inquire directly with participating dealers such as Toyota Alabang, Commonwealth, Global City, Makati, Manila Bay, North EDSA, Pasig, Quezon Avenue, Santa Rosa, San Fernando, and select branches in Cebu and Mandaue.
