The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has intensified its internal cleansing efforts, taking disciplinary action against 179 personnel who were the subject of administrative cases in the past three months.
NCRPO chief Police Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin reported that from 26 August to 25 November, the NCRPO processed 248 administrative cases, resolving 179 of them, which translates to a 72.18 percent case-resolution efficiency with zero backlog.
Aberin disclosed that the initiative is under the direction of Philippine National Police (PNP) acting Chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez and involves strengthening inspections, compliance audits, and disciplinary mechanisms to ensure police personnel uphold the highest standards of conduct.
According to the PNP, the resolved cases led to various sanctions, sending a clear message that integrity is “non-negotiable in every operation, decision, and public interaction.”
The disciplinary actions included the dismissal of 29 officers, the demotion of nine, and the suspension of 64. Additionally, 32 personnel were reprimanded, four had their salaries forfeited, and four were fined.
In addition to the internal measures, the NCRPO conducted extensive community engagement over the 92-day period.
This included 674 interfaith and intercultural dialogues, 603 religious and cultural solidarity activities, 1,025 partnership initiatives, and 872 counter-radicalization engagements across Metro Manila.
Community-level coordination also resulted in 1,955 updated barangay contact lists, the mobilization of 3,275 Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team members and barangay tanods, 2,901 community mobilization activities, and 1,516 drug-prevention lectures.
