The heart of the country is ready for the season of merrymaking, culture and celebration of a much-loved tradition. In this spirit, Malacañang Palace shared a message of hope at the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, hosted by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos on 26 November. This cherished custom and practice continues to bring together music, culture and community as the nation ushers in the Christmas season.
Traditional Filipino delicacies from various provinces were served as the evening opened with a captivating performance of timeless traditions of the Filipino Christmas entitled “Puso ng Pasko” by Alice Reyes Dance Philippines, accompanied by the Manila Symphony Orchestra and The Ryan Cayabyab Singers. Adding to the festive atmosphere were performances by the Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group — Kulintang Ensemble, the PCSO Chorale and Martin Nievera, whose musical and cultural presentations celebrated the essence of a truly Filipino Christmas, enriching the evening with depth and tradition.
