The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested a male individual in Hagonoy, Bulacan, on 25 November 2025, for violating Republic Act No. 11930, otherwise known as the Anti-Online Sexual Exploitation of Children (OSAEC).
According to the NBI-Human Trafficking Division (NBI-HTRAD), a minor female complainant, accompanied by her mother, appeared before the NBI-HTRAD office to report that an unidentified individual had been threatening her to produce and send Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Materials (CSAEM).
The agents of NBI-HTRAD immediately launched an investigation, which led to the identification of the individual responsible for the threats, who turned out to be a relative of Complainant.
The NBI-HTRAD agents also applied for a Warrant to Search, Seize, and Examine Computer Data (WSSECD) for the Subject's premises, which the court later granted.
On November 25, 2025, agents from the NBI-HTRAD, supported by the NBI-Digital Forensic Laboratory (NBI-DFL), the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking, the MSWDO of Hagonoy City, and a non-governmental organization, conducted an entrapment operation to apprehend the Subject and enforce the WSSECD.
This operation led to the seizure of three mobile phones belonging to the Subject, which were examined on-site by forensic experts.
During this examination, the NBI discovered the suspect's Facebook account, which was positively identified by the victim. They also found incriminating chat messages, twelve pieces of Child Sexual Exploitation Materials, evidence of sextortion, and indications of group activities related to pedophilia.
OIC Director Magno emphasized that the NBI remains unwavering in its commitment to fulfilling its mandate to safeguard the public's interests, with a particular focus on protecting minors.
