At its core, the ILUMA i retains the same approach as earlier IQOS versions, avoiding combustion, smoke and ash, which many users say produces a cleaner experience.
The holder now includes a small touch-screen display that shows session time and battery status. A new “Pause Mode” allows users to briefly stop and resume a session, though only under certain settings and within a limited window.
The ILUMA i also introduces features called FlexPuff and FlexBattery, which adjust power use based on a user’s habits.
PMFTC claims these can extend the device’s performance, though real-world gains will depend on how consistently the settings are used.
Build quality remains similar to previous ILUMA models, and the device still operates on induction heating, which eliminates the need for cleaning residue.
