All eyes are on the Cool Smashers as they fight to protect the last crown they have on their heads against a surging Angels team, raring to return the favor on the squad that booted them out in the same stage of the import-flavored competition last year.

Creamline will need a quick turnaround after dropping a demoralizing five-setter against the Super Spikers to end the second round.

No. 1 seed Foxies, bannered by Belgian guest player Eli Rousseaux, are clinging to the momentum of their four-game winning romp to get past the Annie Mitchem-led Chargers, who are coming off a loss to also-ran Choco Mucho.

American scoring machine Anna DeBeer and the Thunderbelles try to advance into a breakthrough semifinals stint against the Bella Belen and Ukrainian Oleksandra Bytsenko-powered Solar Spikers.

The High Speed Hitters, who are looking to win a third straight crown after ruling the On Tour and Invitational, will bank on their reinforcement Russian Anastasija Bavykina while the surging Super Spikers pin their hopes behind Slovakian Katrin Trebichavská.

The do-or-die semifinals will be on Thursday while the winner-take-all battle for third and finals are set on Sunday at the same Cubao venue.
