A tip from a former member of a communist terrorist group (CTG) led to the discovery of explosives and war materiel at Barangay Camachile, Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija on November 23, 2025.

A search and retrieval operation was conducted by joint police forces, leading to the discovery of the said cache.

The operation was conducted by the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (1st PMFC–NEPPO), NEPPO 2nd PMFC, SAF 21st Special Action Battalion, NEPPO–Provincial Intelligence Unit, Gabaldon PS, Bongabon PS, Laur PS, and PIT NE–RIU3.

The said former CTG member surrendered on December 12, 2023 to the NEPPO 1st PMFC.

The team successfully recovered the following items:

• Two pieces of M203 ammunition

• One piece of 9-volt battery

• 28 meters of stranded wire

• Two vintage bombs

• One heavily corroded bomb shell

The recovered explosives will be turned over to NEPECU for proper disposition.

The PNP encourages the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to their nearest police station.
