The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) said that Cassandra Ong’s whereabouts were initially traced through social media exploitation.

In an interview with DZBB, PAOCC spokesman Dr. Winston John Casio explained that the agency has “friends” who reach out to help monitor Ong’s movements.

“Ang tracking ay ginawa sa pamamagitan ng social media exploitation. Mayroon tayong mga kaibigan — well-meaning friends na kaibigan din siya — kaya nasusundan ang kanyang movement via sa kanyang social media,” he explained.

“In the latter part of January, someone reported to us that Cassie Ong appeared to be in Japan. During that time, she still had no warrant of arrest. She still had freedom of movement,” he said.

When the warrant came out in May, they continued tracking her. However, they were no longer able to trace her social media posts because her accounts had already been locked.

“There was nothing wrong with Cassandra Ong’s release last December… because the 19th Congress had already ceased to exist. By virtue of that, even the commitment via the contempt order no longer had effect,” he clarified.

Cassandra “Cassie” Ong was identified as the girlfriend of Wesley Guo, brother of ousted Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo.
