The Philippines is in must-win mode as it takes on Morocco tonight in the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup at the Philsports Complex.

With both squads dropping their opening matches, expect no less than a cat fight for both the Filipina5 and the Moroccans as they clash for survival at 8:30 p.m.

The Philippines got thrashed 0-6 by Poland last Thursday while Morocco lost to Argentina with the same scoreline.

Filipina5 team captain Bella Flanigan said they need to learn from the last match and hope to get their first win in the Futsal World Cup.

“Going into the next, we’ve got a lot to learn from and a lot to fix and it’s going to be a very good experience to take into our next game. Obviously, we’re putting this behind us so we can go into the next match fresh,” Flanigan said.

“We don’t want to think about Morocco too much. We want to focus a lot on our game. We want to fix our mistakes and look at what we can do.”

Morocco head coach Adil Sayeh believes they have already shaken off their first-day jitters as they look to keep their hopes of making it to the quarterfinals.

“It’s the first edition of the World Cup, there were a lot of nerves in the first game. We know the second game will be very tough also, because we’re playing against the host team, the supporters, but we’ll do our best to get the victory,” Sayeh said.

Only the two best teams per group will march through the knockout stages.
