Patrick Reichelt returns to the Philippine national men’s football team as its new assistant manager.
The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) made the announcement Monday as the Nationals face Maldives on Tuesday in the Asian Football Confederation Asian Cup Qualifiers.
“As the new assistant team manager, his extensive experience as a player will significantly support the work of the national team,” the men’s football team page posted.
The 37-year-old Reichelt retired from national team duty last December after a 13-year stint as a player.
The Filipino-German played his final game for the country in the 2024 Mitsubishi Electric Cup last 21 December when they won, 1-0, over Indonesia.
Reichelt played 93 games for the Philippines and scored 13 goals.
He was part of the Azkals squad that made it to the AFC Asian Cup for the first time back in 2019.
