The United States has provided additional relief assistance to “one of their closest friends, partners, and allies,” the Philippines, after Luzon and parts of the Visayas were hit by Super Typhoon Uwan.
After extending an initial $1 million (approximately P58 million) in aid, the U.S. added another $1.5 million (approximately P87 million) on Saturday morning.
This brings total U.S. assistance to $2.5 million (approximately P145 million), covering logistics support, emergency shelter, water and sanitation resources, and the management of evacuation centers.
The latest tranche includes $1.5 million (approximately P87 million) in emergency, life-saving assistance to support the Philippine government–led response.
America also assured the Philippines of a “rapid response,” affirming the enduring ties between the two countries.
