BAGUIO CITY — Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 45-year-old woman who was struck by a vehicle driven by a 19-year-old male student along Loakan Access Road on Wednesday afternoon, 12 November 2025.
According to a report from Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) Station 4, initial findings have yet to determine whether the student’s vehicle suffered a mechanical defect or other issues before hitting the victim, a resident of Loakan Proper. Investigators are also verifying circulating claims on social media alleging that the incident was linked to a car race along the same road.
Police said the student driver was traveling from Barangay Kias toward Purok Ongasan when he hit the victim as she was crossing the street. The force of the collision reportedly threw her several meters, causing her head to hit the pavement, which resulted in her immediate death.
The incident was reported at 1:18 p.m. The victim was declared dead at 1:55 p.m. by a doctor who responded to the scene.
The driver, whose name has not been released, is now in police custody and is expected to face charges of Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Homicide.
