The Provincial Government will continue monitoring and providing assistance to affected barangays in Aurora after Super Typhoon Uwan ravaged the province.
According to Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) chief Engr. Amado Elson A. Egargue, relief operations will continue for residents impacted by the typhoon.
He reported that 10,735 families or 33,908 individuals were evacuated, and no casualties were recorded. A major landslide was reported in Dipaculao, with debris from Barangay Calaocan reaching the Maddela, Quirino boundary, disrupting traffic flow.
The Municipal DRRMO and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) immediately carried out clearing operations and placed early warning signs on affected roads. The Aurora District Engineering Office (ADEO) is also conducting ongoing road assessments.
Several roads in San Luis, Maria Aurora, Casiguran, and Dilasag were affected by flooding and debris flow. Government agencies continue efforts to restore normal traffic.
In the towns of Dinalungan, Casiguran, Dilasag, and Dingalan, power supply and telecommunications services were disrupted.
Aside from infrastructure response, humanitarian operations are also underway. In Baler, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Aurora Chapter provided hot porridge and bread to about 500 individuals, and 120 children received support through a Child-Friendly Space (CFS) program.
In Dilasag, some 1,038 individuals from various barangays received hot meals from 143 Red Cross volunteers.
The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) continues to distribute family food packs and hygiene kits to evacuation centers. The Philippine Army, Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire Protection, and the Philippine National Police are coordinating with the Provincial Government on clearing, security, and aid distribution.
Meanwhile, Governor Isidro P. Galban continues to inspect damage and assess the needs of affected communities.
