Pumped-kin

Two English farmers have entered the Guinness World Record (GWR) for growing a giant gourd.
Twins Ian and Stuart Paton, 64, of Hampshire had grown a 1,278-kilogram pumpkin, the heaviest of its kind, as verified by GWR during a competition.
GWR also recognized the brothers’ pumpkin as the largest after its circumference measured almost 6.5 meters, the New York Post (NYP) reported.
Sebastian Suski, an assessor from the Great Pumpkin Commonwealth, an international organization that oversees the hobby of growing giant pumpkins, and a GWR consultant, took the measurements, according to NYP.
Earlier, an even bigger pumpkin was displayed in front of a house in Ohio, USA.
The pumpkin was not as heavy as the English twins’ squash, though. In fact, it was so light the wind blew it away.
Two Parma Heights Police officers were patrolling in the neighborhood when they saw the pumpkin rolling down the road and went in hot pursuit of it on 8 October, UPI reports.
One of the officer’s body cameras recorded the night pursuit and how the giant inflatable pumpkin was finally caught by the roadside.
In the footage, the officer can be heard explaining that he had been chasing the pumpkin down the road, according to UPI.
The officer then deflated the pumpkin and put it in the passenger seat of the patrol car before driving it back to the home it escaped from.
