SILVER body of the Vision X-Coupe reflects Mazda’s mix of classic proportions and forward-looking technology.
Mazda showed two new vision models and a refreshed crowd favorite at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. The company wants to send the message that driving can stay fun while the path to a cleaner future becomes real.
The first concept is the MAZDA VISION X-COUPE. It is a crossover coupe that takes the brand’s Kodo design language forward. Power comes from a plug-in setup that mixes a two-rotor rotary turbo engine with an electric motor and a battery. Output reaches 510 PS. The car can run up to 160 kilometers on motor power alone.
It can reach as far as 800 kilometers when the engine and the motor work together. Mazda also talks about using fuel made from microalgae and a system it calls Mazda Mobile Carbon Capture. The more the car runs, the more it helps pull CO2 from the air.
The second concept is the MAZDA VISION X-COMPACT. Mazda pronounces the “X” as cross. This model focuses on the link between a person and the car. It blends a human sensory digital model with what Mazda calls empathetic AI.
The idea is a cabin that talks back in a natural way and suggests places to go. Mazda frames it as a close companion rather than a cold interface. It is the brand’s take on smart mobility that still feels human.
Mazda set the tone with a theme for 2035. The line is “The Joy of Driving Fuels a Sustainable Tomorrow.” It reads like a promise to people who want cleaner travel and still love the feel of a good drive.
The brand also pulled the cover off the All-New MAZDA CX-5 in European spec for a public show debut. The nameplate has moved more than 4.5 million units across over 100 markets. The new model keeps the Jinba-ittai philosophy that Mazda is known for.
Mazda sums up this push with two phrases that keep coming up in its materials. Radically Human and Joy of Living. The brand says it will keep building around those ideas and keep tuning the joy of driving as the world shifts to lower emissions.
