DRIVER-PARTNERS of Maxim Cebu prepare and distribute relief packs for earthquake-hit communities in Bogo City.
Driver-partners of Maxim Cebu stepped up to help communities hit by a recent earthquake. They delivered food and water to affected families in Bogo City and donated blood for injured victims.
About a hundred families who took shelter at Cebu Provincial Hospital, Bogo City, and Bogo Gymnasium received food packs brought in by Maxim trucks. When damaged roads made access difficult, volunteers switched to motorcycles to reach the area.
A total of 62 Maxim driver-partners helped distribute more than 500 kilograms of rice, 200 packs of biscuits, and around 100 bottles of water. The effort was supported by the company and its partners, who wanted to ease the burden on displaced residents.
The next day, another group of driver-partners visited Vicente Sotto Hospital to donate blood. With over 60 earthquake victims admitted, the hospital’s blood supply had run critically low.
Seventy-two drivers from Cebu donated around 35 liters of blood, while those in Lapu-Lapu City added nearly 15 liters more.
Maxim Cebu also held a street cleanup, clearing debris from 5 to 8 a.m. to help restore order in the area. The company’s Pampanga branch will continue the advocacy through a blood donation drive at the Mabalacat LGU on 30 October.
“This earthquake has tested our communities, but unity keeps us strong,” Poliran Christopher Landong, head of Maxim Cebu, said. “We’ll continue to do whatever we can to help.”
