The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Tuesday advised passengers to report cases of fare overpricing involving taxis and ride-hailing services.
LTFRB Chairman Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II said all regional offices have been instructed to respond promptly to complaints submitted through hotlines or social media, in line with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to ensure safe and comfortable travel for Filipinos during the Undas exodus.
Mendoza said the LTFRB is coordinating with other government agencies for the deployment of personnel at bus stations and transport hubs, particularly in Metro Manila and other major cities. He also vowed to continue operations against erring taxi and public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers, including those operating at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
“We will be expanding this in bus terminals, ports and other areas where passengers usually converge in times of long holidays such as the Undas,” Mendoza said.
He said complaints may be sent through the LTFRB nationwide hotline 09567610739. Passengers may also tag the official social media accounts of the LTFRB and the Department of Transportation (DOTr) with videos or photos related to violations committed by PUV drivers.
