The Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) has issued another subpoena to former Ako Bicol party-list Representative Zaldy Co in connection with the ongoing flood control scandal.
ICI Director Brian Hosaka said the subpoena was sent on 20 October, requiring Co to appear before the commission on 11 and 12 November.
Hosaka added that the ICI will determine if there is “enough basis” to hold Co in contempt should he refuse to attend the hearings.
Copies of the subpoena were sent to Co’s residence in Pasig City and to his address in Bicol.
In September, Co resigned from Congress, citing “the real, direct, grave, and imminent threat” to him and his family over the allegations tied to the anomalous public works projects, which he has denied.
He also rejected claims that his family flaunted their wealth on social media, despite evidence circulating online.
With reports suggesting that Co may have left the country, Navotas Representative Toby Tiangco and House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy have sought assistance from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) to cancel his passport.
