he Office of the Ombudsman clarified Monday morning that Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla is cancer-free and in good health, capable of performing his duties effectively.

According to the official statement, Remulla has been free of cancer for one and a half years and continues to live a healthy lifestyle while fulfilling his role in public service.

("The Ombudsman is in good health and continues to perform his duties with full vitality and dedication.")

The agency added that Remulla regularly exercises every morning before reporting for work.

("The Ombudsman is free of cancer and has been for one and a half years. He also exercises every morning before going to the office to maintain a healthy lifestyle.")

The statement was issued following Remulla’s recent television interview where he discussed his battle with cancer, during which he underwent two cycles of chemotherapy, total body irradiation, and a bone marrow transplant — with his son serving as the donor.

("His recent statement regarding his health is in the past tense, as it refers to his experience before assuming the post of Ombudsman.")

The Office of the Ombudsman also reaffirmed Remulla’s continued commitment to accountability and justice, emphasizing his resolve to pursue those involved in the flood control scandal.

("We assure the public that the Ombudsman is determined to hold those responsible for the flood control issue accountable, and he is fully capable of doing so. His second chance at life has given him the determination and conviction that he has nothing left to fear or postpone.")
