Officials from the Bureau of Customs (BOC), together with Senate Committee on Agriculture, Food, and Agrarian Reform Chairperson Senator Francis Pangilinan, inspected a seized shipment of misdeclared frozen chicken breasts and fish balls at the Manila International Container Port (MICP) on Monday, 27 October 2025. The shipment, declared to contain 5,300 cartons of fish balls, was later discovered to hold sacks of frozen chicken breasts valued at ₱12.96 million, highlighting ongoing efforts to curb agricultural smuggling and protect consumers from unsafe and misdeclared imports.
