Industry leaders, carmakers and advocates of clean transport gathered this weekend as the 13th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS) officially opened at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. The annual event, organized by the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP), runs until 25 October and continues to be a hub for dialogue, innovation, and progress in the country’s electric mobility movement.
Carrying the theme “Charge Ahead, Ignite the EVolution,” PEVS 2025 showcases the latest in electric cars, charging systems, and green technologies. It also opens discussions on how both public and private sectors can work together to expand the EV infrastructure and make electric mobility more practical for everyday Filipinos.
EVAP president Edmund Araga led the ribbon-cutting ceremony, joined by officials from the Department of Energy and partners including BYD Cars Philippines, Omoda & Jaecoo Motor Philippines Inc., United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI) and GAC Dangdang.
The summit serves as an educational space for visitors to learn about ownership costs, charging options, and long-term environmental benefits. The event’s growing turnout each year reflects how local interest in sustainable transport continues to gain momentum.
