Malacañang on Wednesday welcomed the results of the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showing that 43 percent of adult Filipinos have “much trust” in President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., saying the figure reflects the public’s recognition of his efforts to bring progress and curb corruption in government.
In a statement, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the President is viewed by many Filipinos as a leader committed to improving lives and fighting corruption, despite ongoing challenges such as natural disasters and the investigation into anomalous flood control projects.
“We can see that President Marcos Jr. is truly working hard and fighting corruption tirelessly so that every Filipino’s life can improve despite the challenges and calamities we face,” Castro said.
The SWS survey, conducted from 24 to 30 September, found that 43 percent of adult Filipinos have “much trust” in the President, while 36 percent expressed “little trust” and 21 percent were undecided. The latest figure marks a dip from the 48 percent recorded in June 2025.
Vice President Sara Duterte’s rating also dipped from 61 to 53 percent.
The survey was taken amid the ongoing probe by the Independent Commission for Infrastructure into anomalies in government flood control projects. Marcos had created the ICI.
Despite the dip in his trust rating, the Palace emphasized the President remained focused on public service, not popularity. Castro said Marcos finds encouragement in signs that Filipinos are beginning to feel the efforts of his administration.
“The people are now aware of who truly works hard and cares for them — and who thinks only of their own interests,” Castro added.
