GCash announced it will comply with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ (BSP) recent directive requiring the suspension of in-app gaming access in mobile payment apps and websites under BSP-supervised institutions.
In line with BSP Memorandum No. M-2025-029, GCash will implement the necessary changes within 48 hours. Users accessing games through GLife will no longer be able to play via the platform starting Saturday, 16 August, 8 PM.
GCash users with remaining funds in their gaming accounts can withdraw these back to their GCash wallets through GLife until the suspension takes effect. Afterward, remaining balances can only be accessed directly through the respective gaming merchant’s website.
The company emphasized its support for “stronger safeguards on online gaming” and reiterated its commitment to working with regulators and industry partners to protect the financial health of Filipinos.
