The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) honored nine institutional partners from the South Luzon Regional Office (SLRO) during the 2025 Outstanding BSP Stakeholders Appreciation Ceremony (OBSAC) held on 8 August in Naga City.
BSP Governor Eli M. Remolona Jr. lauded SLRO’s critical role in the region, noting its vast coverage from Southern Palawan to Catanduanes — a stretch of nearly 800 kilometers.
“The SLRO may not be our biggest regional office — but it is definitely our most expansive. This office covers Southern Palawan to Catanduanes — spanning nearly 800 kilometers. This scale brings unique challenges but also reaffirms a simple truth: we are here; we are better together,” Remolona said.
BSP Deputy Governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, for her part, commended the awardees for their contribution to financial inclusion.
Vision of financial inclusion
“You have helped bring our vision of financial inclusion closer to reality and made our programs more meaningful for ordinary Filipinos,” she said.
The OBSAC, established in 2004, serves as the BSP’s platform to recognize partners that advance its mandates of ensuring price stability, maintaining financial stability, and fostering a safe and efficient payments and settlements system.
South Luzon honorees
This year’s South Luzon honorees were recognized for promoting BSP initiatives in gold buying, financial inclusion and education, currency management, and digital payments.
They include the Land Bank of the Philippines-Lucena Guinto Branch and Cash Operations Unit, Land Bank of the Philippines-Naga Rotunda Branch, CARD Banking Group, the Provincial Government of Quezon, the Provincial Government of Camarines Norte, the Quezon Federation and Union of Cooperatives, DWMR Radyo Pilipinas Palawan, Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation, and JMH Microfinance Inc.
The SLRO ceremony follows the 18 July awarding of outstanding partners from the BSP’s Head Office. Similar events are slated for North Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao in the coming weeks.
