Tarlac City — Five people died while nine others were injured during a self-accident involving a Hyundai H100 vehicle along the Central Luzon Expressway (CLLEX) in La Paz, Tarlac, on Tuesday morning, 12 August.
The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of La Paz received the emergency call reporting the self-accident and immediately mobilized its response team.
The MDRRMO requested augmentation and medical support from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), Tarlac City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), and the Philippine Red Cross Tarlac (PRC) Chapter.
According to PRC Chairman and CEO Richard Gordon, the accident happened around 7:55 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. this morning, wherein 14 individuals were injured.
He added that 11 patients were transported to Tarlac Provincial Hospital, while three patients were sent to Jecsons Medical Center.
“The Philippine Red Cross – Tarlac Chapter deployed Ambulance 2071 with 4 personnel, catering to 1 patient and was transported to Tarlac Provincial Hospital,” he said.
PRC Tarlac has also set up a Welfare Desk/Assistance & First Aid Station at Tarlac Provincial Hospital, manned by welfare volunteers, RCY nurses, and EMS/SS personnel.
“Our fleet of ambulances remains on standby for any additional transport needs, and arrangements are ready should blood be required,” he added.
