The Department of Justice (DoJ) will launch a revised protocol for managing cases involving child victims of abuse, neglect, exploitation and discrimination on 14 August 2025.
In a statement, the agency said that the updated protocol aims to provide a “more comprehensive, standardized and harmonized approach” to child protection, according to a DoJ statement released Tuesday.
The original protocol was established in 2013.
The Committee for the Special Protection of Children (CSPC), an inter-agency body, developed the revised protocol to address emerging issues, new laws and the increasing complexity of inter-agency coordination.
It will include a ceremonial signing of a resolution that proposes the adoption of the revised protocol by all member agencies and partners of the committee.
The DoJ said it believes the revised protocol will improve efficiency and accountability among those responsible for child protection.
“The CSPC remains hopeful that the Revised Protocol will not only enhance coordination and responsiveness among government agencies and stakeholders but also pave the way toward a safer, more just future for all Filipino children,” the DoJ said.
