San Juan City — The San Juan City government on Thursday inaugurated and blessed the Makabagong San Juan National Government Center, with a short program held at the Makabagong San Juan Theater on the 4th floor.
“I’m proud to say that this facility is truly world-class. It even hosted the Post-SONA meetings, where Cabinet Secretaries conducted breakout sessions to discuss the details of the President’s address. We never imagined we would have this kind of facility," Mayor Francis Zamora said."This was actually the first groundbreaking I led during my first week as mayor. Our goal then was to establish a one-stop shop for government services—and now, it’s finally a reality, thanks to President Marcos and the Bagong Pilipinas eGov PH Hub,” he added.
Congresswoman Bel Zamora said the funds for the construction of the National Government Center came from the national government, which she secured starting in 2023.
"We’ve also earmarked additional funding to complete the remaining components of the building next year. I’m grateful to Mayor Zamora for the many projects we’ve accomplished together, and to the people for supporting us in our work. We’ll continue working tirelessly for San Juan,” she said.
Following the program, a blessing and unveiling of commemorative markers were held throughout the building, beginning with the theater on the 4th floor. The blessing proceeded from the upper floors down to the lower levels, concluding with the unveiling of a special marker on the ground floor and the blessing of Congresswoman Zamora’s District Office on the 3rd floor.
Constructed with a budget of ₱1,013,425,000, the Makabagong San Juan National Government Center is a modern six-story facility with a lower ground level and basement parking. It is designed to centralize access to national government services for San Juaneños. The building currently houses the Bagong Pilipinas eGov PH Serbisyo Hub and will soon welcome additional national government agencies.
A standout feature of the complex is the Makabagong San Juan Theater—a state-of-the-art performance venue with a total seating capacity of 876, including 468 seats on the lower level and 408 on the balcony. The theater is equipped with retractable curtains, a projector and screen, a professional sound system, and two dressing rooms, making it an ideal space to highlight and nurture San Juaneño talent and creativity.
From the 1st to the 3rd floors, the National Government Center provides 15 office units per floor for national agencies and allied services. The complex also includes a Barangay Hall for Barangay St. Joseph, as well as a wooden-covered, air-conditioned basketball court that will serve as an indoor venue for sports and community events.
“This National Government Center is a testament to our commitment to bring national services closer to our constituents. San Juaneños no longer need to travel far to access agencies and services that should be within reach. This center is for the people of San Juan—accessible, functional, and Makabago,” Mayor Zamora said.
