COTABATO City -- Special Assistant to the President Anton Lagdameo Jr. met with Bangsamoro leaders on Thursday to reaffirm the national government's support for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
Lagdameo’s presence at the Chief Minister’s Hour highlighted the Marcos administration's commitment to the peace process and fostering inclusive development in the region as he recognized the crucial role the BARMM plays in achieving lasting peace and prosperity in Mindanao.
He assured Bangsamoro leaders of continued support from national agencies, especially ahead of the region’s first parliamentary elections on 13 October.
"The progress we have seen in BARMM is a product of cooperation, trust, and shared vision," Lagdameo said. "The national government remains fully supportive of the region’s transition efforts, and we look forward to deeper collaboration to uplift the lives of our fellow Filipinos in the Bangsamoro."
Interim Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua welcomed Lagdameo's visit, calling it a strong signal of partnership and confidence in the region's institutions. He added that such engagements help build momentum for effective governance and peaceful political transformation.
