NEW DELHI, India — For the first time in more than two decades, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos has set foot once again in New Delhi, India, for the five-day state visit of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
The event marks the first time a First Lady of the Philippines visited India, as previous presidents came either alone, like Fidel V. Ramos, or was a woman like Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
Wearing a stunning green and yellow Filipiniana dress, Mrs. Marcos quickly blended in with the calm sights of India.
With the President’s busy schedule, the First Lady will hold her own meetings on issues close to her heart.
While Mr. Marcos will focus on official high-level discussions, Mrs. Marcos will engage in socio-cultural, people-to-people, light-hearted diplomacy.
