More than 10,000 people affected by heavy monsoon rains and storms in the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Pampanga and Rizal received food bags donated by Prime Infra Foundation, Prime Infra’s corporate social arm, on 22 and 29 July.
More than 200 volunteers from the Foundation and Prime Infra’s business units: Prime Waste Solutions Pampanga, Prime Solar, Ahunan Power Inc., Olympia Violago Water and Power Inc. and WawaJVCo Inc., as well as from the local communities and governments packed and distributed rice, noodles, coffee and canned goods to beneficiaries.
The communities covered by the relief assistance were Barangays Planas, Camias, Pio and Calantas in Pampanga; Barangays Baño, Burgos, Taft, Rizal, Gonzales and Tavera in Pakil, and Paete in Laguna; and Barangay San Rafael in Montalban, Barangay Pintong Bukawe in San Mateo and Barangay Calawis in Antipolo, Rizal.
In Rizal, hot meals and ready-to-eat snacks were provided to evacuees at evacuation centers, ensuring their nutritional needs were promptly met during the storm.
Prime Infra extended relief assistance to Barangays Pantihan II and III and Talipusngo in Maragondon, Cavite, as well as Barangays Pinagsanhan A and B, which are located near the river and coastal areas. The assistance helped residents secure food supplies, as some were unable to work and obtain food on their own because of the continuous heavy rains.
Prime Infra Foundation also turned over more than 18,000 medicines and multivitamins to the provincial government of Laguna, in support of its program to make maintenance medicines more accessible to residents, especially among senior citizens.
Beyond providing immediate aid, the Foundation supports communities through various initiatives and programs aimed at strengthening community preparedness and resilience.
