The Southwest Monsoon or habagat will continue to bring scattered rain showers over extreme Northern Luzon, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
In a weather forecast issued Sunday, PAGASA said Batanes has been experiencing cloudy skies with scattered rain showers, which may persist until Monday.
The state weather bureau also noted that no low-pressure areas are currently being monitored within the Philippine Area of Responsibility. Despite this, the habagat will continue to bring scattered rains and thunderstorms to Batanes and nearby areas.
From Tuesday to Wednesday, generally fair weather is expected in most parts of the country, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and chances of localized rain showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.
Meanwhile, a low-pressure area may develop east of Luzon by Thursday, 7 August, which could bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, and Zamboanga Peninsula. Its effects may extend northward and could affect parts of Luzon and Western Visayas.
PAGASA advised that this forecast could still change depending on weather patterns in the coming days.
