The local government of Quezon City is set to host President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s fourth State of the Nation Address (SoNA) at the Batasang Pambansa Complex and stressed that it has finalized preparations for the event.
More than 10,000 uniformed personnel from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) will be deployed to implement safety and security protocols across the city.
They will be supported by over 2,300 personnel from Quezon City’s Law and Order Cluster and other government agencies, including the Department of Public Order and Safety, Traffic and Transport Management Department and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
Mayor Joy Belmonte reiterated her call from last year, stating that Quezon City will remain an “open city” and welcome individuals and groups wishing to express their freedom of speech.
“We assure the public that the City Government is on top of this year’s President’s State of the Nation’s Address,” Belmonte said. “Our Law and Order Cluster is closely coordinating with the Philippine National Police to ensure the safety of our residents and visitors during this day.”
