Two person with disability (PWD) athletes were hailed by Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda for winning silver medals in the Lion City Cup 2025 Lawn Bowls Tournament that was held at the Kallang Lawn Bowls Green and Tanglin Club Sports Centre from 6 to 12 July in Singapore.
Angelito Barro and James Christian Andia were feted by the governor for bringing home medals in the U25 boys’ pairs event of the prestigious invitational tourney that was participated by powerhouse countries like Australia, China, Japan and Singapore.
Both deaf and mute, Barro and Andia proved that being considered as PWDs is not a hindrance for them to shine and bring glory to the country.
Pineda hailed Barro and Andia, saying that it truly a great honor for the province to have both of them emerge victorious in the tourney that stakes world ranking points.
