Habagat evacuates 1K Parañaque residents

Over 1,000 residents of Parañaque city have been evacuated as of 22 July due to flooding caused by heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon or habagat.

According to the Parañaque City Local Government Unit, a total of 1,354 individuals equivalent to 889 families have sought shelters in evacuation centers as of 12 noon. Most evacuees are from Barangay San Dionisio from areas located behind SM Sucat, 

The number of residents going to evacuation centers continues to increase with evacuees spread across 13 evacuation centers throughout the city. 

As of 11 a.m., flood ranging from waist to chest deep were reported in several barangays including San Dionisio, San Isidro, Sto Niño, Moonwalk, and San Antonio. 

Rescue operations are still ongoing in affected areas.
