Subaru has unveiled its newest electric crossover, the 2026 Subaru Uncharted, which is scheduled to go on sale in early 2026. While it was revealed for global markets, there’s no word yet on when, or if, it will officially arrive in the Philippines.

The Uncharted is the latest product of Subaru’s ongoing collaboration with Toyota, which previously gave us the BRZ and 86 twins, and more recently, the Solterra and bZ4X EVs. This time, Subaru’s EV is based on the next-generation Toyota C-HR, but carries a distinct look and feel under the Uncharted badge.

Design-wise, the Uncharted shares its overall shape with the new C-HR, with a sloping roofline, sharp character lines, and a compact footprint. But Subaru adds its own touches, like chunky black cladding, a reworked front end, and its signature six-star badge. It’s shorter than the Solterra by about seven inches but still manages over 25 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row.

The Uncharted’s cabin layout is almost the same as its Toyota sibling, though the colors and finishes are different. The dashboard features a mix of black, orange, and white, a sportier vibe compared to the C-HR’s more subdued gray-and-teal tones. One standout difference is that the Uncharted gets a Formula-style steering wheel, while the C-HR sticks with a more conventional design.

Under the hood, or rather, under the floor, Subaru has packed a 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery, powering either a single-motor, front-wheel drive setup or a dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration. The FWD version produces 221 PS and has an estimated range of over 480 kilometers. The AWD model bumps output to 338 PS, good for a 0–96 kph in under 5 seconds, with a slightly lower range of around 466 kilometers.

Charging is handled via a standard NACS (Tesla-style) port, allowing fast-charging from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 30 minutes using a 150-kW DC charger. A built-in battery preconditioning system helps maintain that speed, and a home charger supports both Level 1 and Level 2 charging up to 11 kW.

All-wheel-drive variants also get Subaru’s X-MODE, which improves traction on slippery surfaces like gravel or dirt.. The ride and handling have been tuned by Subaru engineers to give the Uncharted its own driving character, separate from the C-HR.

There’s a 14-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual wireless charging pads in front, USB-C ports in the back, and a full suite of driver-assist tech. That includes EyeSight features like pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitors, and lane keep assist. Depending on the version, buyers can also get extras like a panoramic view monitor, heated rear seats, and a Harman Kardon audio system.

Three variants are planned. Those are the entry-level Premium (FWD), mid-spec Sport (AWD), and range-topping GT (AWD). The Premium version is expected to offer the longest range at the lowest price, though availability will be limited.

As of now, there’s no official pricing or local release date. But with growing EV interest in the Philippines and more charging infrastructure being built, Subaru fans will no doubt be keeping an eye out.
