Filipino-Korean American lawyer Eve Cho Guillergan has won the Democratic primary for Civil Court Judge in Queens Municipal Court District 2, making her the first Filipino-American to achieve this in New York City’s judiciary.
Guillergan will represent the Democratic Party in the general election for the District 2 Civil Court seat, which covers Corona, Elmhurst, East Elmhurst, Rego Park, Sunnyside, Woodside, and parts of Forest Hills and Maspeth.
She is currently listed as Director of the Small Law Firm Center at the New York City Bar Association, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Her victory is seen as a significant milestone for Filipino representation in New York’s legal system.
