The eight Filipino seafarers who survived a Houthi strike on the Greek-owned vessel, MV Eternity C, have arrived safely at the Jizan Port in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said on Tuesday.
The survivors are now in the care of the Migrant Workers Office in Jeddah operating under a one-country team led by the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Philippine Consulate General.
Labor Attaché Fidel Macauyag said the seafarers will undergo medical checks and standard health protocols at a local hospital.
The eight are among the 21 Filipino crew members of the Eternity C. The government said efforts are ongoing to account for the other 13 crew members.
