Senator Christopher “Bong” Go called on Filipinos to pray for former President Rodrigo Duterte’s health and support a Senate resolution seeking his immediate repatriation from The Hague.
Go grew emotional as he recounted information from Duterte’s daughter, Kitty, about the former president’s deteriorating condition.
“Ako po’y sobrang nalulungkot. I miss him dearly,” Go said.
He lamented that Duterte, who served the country for six years, “does not deserve this” and should age in the Philippines surrounded by family and supporters.
Go also revealed Duterte no longer has access to his longtime doctors in the Philippines.
The senator stressed, “Let’s bring him home alive. Buhay po. Dalahin natin siya ritong buhay.”
Go confirmed he co-authored a joint Senate resolution with Senators Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa and Robinhood Padilla urging Duterte’s immediate repatriation.
He appealed for unity among public servants and continued prayers for Duterte’s health, safety, and freedom.
I’m calling for peace and unity among our fellow public servants,” Go said.
Vice President Sara Duterte recently disclosed that the former president has given final instructions for his remains to be cremated in The Hague if he dies there, with only his ashes brought home.
