Lee Jun Hyuk recently flew back to the Philippines, and honestly? It felt like we were all cast in his next romantic comedy.
On 29 June, the Love Scout star hosted his Let Me In fan meeting at the Newport Performing Arts Theater. He scouted everyone of us with that stare. Instant heart thief.
Although he had previously attended the Asia Artist Awards in 2023, this was his first official fan meeting with Pinoys, and it was a memorable experience.
At one point, host Denise Laurel asked him if he’d seen anything beautiful since landing.
His answer? “I guess this is the most beautiful view I’m seeing right now.”
And then he doubled down: “I was not able to see a lot of beautiful sights last night because I just arrived late at night. But looking at you guys, a lot of you guys here, I feel so happy. I think this is the most beautiful view ever.”
Of course, no K-drama lead visit would be complete without food. They offered him halo-halo (our form of bingsu), and his reaction was simple yet memorable: “Masarap.”
He’s officially one of us now.
What do we also like about Jun Hyuk? He’s more than simply pictures. He boxed. He writes books. He sings. He probably also keeps a journal.
And when Denise joked about him visiting General Santos City (aka Manny Pacquiao’s hometown) to learn some moves, he said:
“When I was learning boxing, I actually (watched) his videos a lot on YouTube. If there’s a given chance to get hit by Manny Pacquiao, that’s an honor, too.”
Not the “hit me, Pacquiao” energy.
He also got super soft when fans pulled out his book Hello, Popcorn, which he wrote in memory of his late dog.
“After my Popcorn passed away, to fill the emptiness in my heart, I (started) to write the book.”
When he saw that fans brought copies even though it’s not available here in PH, he was so touched: “Many of you are buying the book for me, I can feel that my heart is filled, and also I thought that Popcorn will be happy up there in heaven.”
There was even a fan dressed as his old Stranger character and another who’s been a stan since his City Hall days.
Jun-hyuk was shook:“I never expected that there would be a fan who loves me for (many) years. It really feels surprising.”
He also showed off his vocals by singing “Like a Child” live — and yup, it was giving leading man energy. Before leaving, he told fans:
“Parang panaginip ang araw na ito. Salamat po. Mahal kita (Today is like a dream. Thank you. I love you).”
Lee Jun Hyuk may be Love Scout on screen, but in real life? He just soft-launched his second home — and it’s clearly the Philippines.
He is best known for his role as Seo Dong-jae in Stranger (2017–2020). His other notable works include Naked Fireman (2017), A Poem a Day (2018), Designated Survivor: 60 Days (2019), 365: Repeat the Year (2020), Dark Hole (2021), Vigilante (2023) and Love Scout (2025).
