Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo is welcoming new leadership with the appointment of Rouel P. Guanzon as its General Manager, marking another milestone for SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation (SMHCC) as it strengthens its commitment to elevate the city’s hospitality scene.
Rouel steps into this role with decades of experience behind him, bringing a career defined by practical leadership and a track record of boosting business growth for well-known hotels and resorts. From spearheading operations at The Farm at San Benito to overseeing iconic names like Waterfront Insular Hotel and Azumi Boutique Hotel, Rouel has shaped every post into a lesson in high standards and sustainable success.
Beyond managing hotel grounds, Rouel made his mark in sales and marketing for global names such as The Peninsula Manila and Renaissance Hotel. His sharp eye for strategy consistently translated into record occupancy and standout performance in revenue generation.
His career also took him to California’s The Quail Lodge and Golf Club, where his methods turned market analysis into real gains for each property.
Yet his passion does not stop with hospitality management. As an academic, Rouel devotes time to teaching future industry leaders at Enderun Colleges and Southville International Schools and Colleges, covering subjects from strategic management to business ethics.
He couples this commitment to education with solid academic roots — a master’s degree in Hospitality Management from Cornell University and a marketing degree from De La Salle University.
