Candon City in Ilocos Sur is all set to welcome back the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) On Tour with open arms and heightened anticipation as it plays host to another explosive double-header at the Candon City Arena on 29 July.
Highlighting the day’s festivities is a marquee clash between powerhouse squads Petro Gazz Angels and Choco Mucho Flying Titans — two teams tipped to contend for the crown in the league’s ongoing pre-season tournament.
This marks the third time the dynamic city in Northern Luzon will host the PVL On Tour, solidifying its growing reputation as a major player in the national sporting landscape.
The timing couldn’t be more perfect as the competition continues to intensify, with each match serving as a testament to the elevated level of play brought by a mix of seasoned veterans and sensational newcomers.
Indeed, the arrival of blue-chip rookies has contributed to an unprecedented level of parity in the tournament, making each showdown a must-watch affair. But among the four teams seeing action in Candon, all eyes will once again be on defending All-Filipino champion Petro Gazz, which has a storied history of success in the city.
The Angels have swept their previous PVL On Tour outings at the Candon City Arena, including a dominant performance against Nxled on 27 October, 2023, and a resounding win over the Farm Fresh Foxies on 23 November, 2024.
